Reimagining the Architecture of Comfort at Milan Design Week
Milan Design Week marked a pivotal moment for us: the first time the world of Ora existed in a single space. After a year of development, seeing our collection come together was the realization of a specific vision— Ora believes the home is a sanctuary, a place of quiet resonance which grounds and enriches life. To bring this to life, our design ethos looks to bridge the gap between high-end design and the visceral, instinctive need for comfort.
BEYOND ''HAUTE COUTURE'' INTERIORS
In an era of digital saturation, we observed a growing trend furniture designed like haute couture dresses—visually stunning for a photoshoot, but impractical for the rhythm of daily life.
Ora was born to fill this void. We believe luxury should not be ridged and inflexible. It should evoke the safety and warmth of home—something instinctively comforting, like the aroma of a favorite meal. Our pieces are designed not just to be looked at, but to be lived in, and be personalized.
The Centerpiece: The Balu Sofa
The Balu Sofa is a reimagining of what a communal space can be. It moves away from the rigid “set pur pose” of traditional seating to allow the user to play.

A sumptuous multi-density foam base topped with feather and down for ultimate “sink-in” comfort.
The Innovation
Four movable back bolsters featuring integrated toppers that can be unzipped to serve as floor mats.
The Experience
During Milan, we watched this adaptability in action. Tall guests increased the depth; shorter guests moved bol sters forward for a tailored fit. We saw children playing on the mats and dogs resting on the toppers while owners sprawled out—proving that Balu is a reflection of the user’s immediate mood and lifestyle.

We believe the relationship with a product begins with the act of creation. The Balu is fully modular and customizable.
Detachable Elements:
The base is a freestanding oak element with no physical attachment to the cushions, allowing for easy updates.
Environments:
The choice of fabrics can be overwhelming, with little guidance of style and useability offered in the marketplace. At Ora Home, we have create three environments, namely country house, townhouse and beach house, and curated three unique fabrics for each on the basis of their texture, feel and practical use. For example, we have selected a luxurious Belgium linen for our townhouse setting, perfect for modern urban living.
The Customizer:
With 9 curated fabrics, 3 wood treatments, and over 10 colors per textile, our bespoke online customizer allows designers to tailor the Ora aesthetic to any project.
The Verdict from Milan
The most validating part of our launch was hearing visitors say, "This would be great when..." as they intuitively adjusted a bolster or moved a tray. It confirmed that the market is ready for a softer side of high-end design—one where the user, not just the designer, is part of the story.

Silver travertine was selected for its intentional weight and permanence. When placed on the Balu sofa, the Pebal’s mass allows it to sink into the cushions, providing a stable, luxurious surface for drinks and objects that lighter materials cannot provide.
